ROBERT J. WATSON
Resolution Institute Founder
Robert Watson is the founder and executive director of The Resolution Institute. As the CEO of Resolution Inc, a private organizational development consulting firm, he brings 47 years of expertise in change management and collaboration skills training to the non-profit Resolution Institute. His interest in creating positive organizational change goes back to 1974 when he was assigned as a human relations officer in the U.S. Coast Guard where he led gender and racial discrimination awareness seminars and worked with Stanford University to train leadership programs based on principles that ensure long-lasting behavioral change. Since founding Resolution Inc in 1983, Rob has consistently applied the Stanford principles to the development of the “Resolution Process,” helping state and federal government agencies establish collaborative cultures. He also initiated and implemented a fact-based performance management system and software program around the principles of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program, providing an interactive process to establish accountability and employee empowerment. Rob is now applying these tools as the basis for global change through the Resolution Institute. In his free time, Rob enjoys sharing his love of sailing in San Francisco Bay.

EVAN BORNSTEIN

After completing a B.A. in economics at U.C. Berkeley, Evan joined the Resolution Institute in order to apply his academic interest to a practical and meaningful project. His role on the Resolution Institute team included performing a deep dive into developing a reliable framework for identifying which issues should be included on the HUE dashboard. This involved researching the work and priorities of existing institutions, reading relevant literature, and developing a methodology with an expert in performance excellence.
After a year and a half working and living with the Resolution Institute, Evan decided to pursue an M.S. in applied economics and finance at U.C. Santa Cruz. Since then, he has worked in economic consulting for outfits working in labor and competition/antitrust.
